Trip overview
My trip to Ariege was ok it rained nearly every day. But we got out climbing most days. on the worst day we did a sight seeing a trip to Andorra. Our best day of climbing was at Auzat. I got a half the day of wearing shorts, this was the warmest day of the week. We had fun and we got loads of mileage in. 12 routes for a late start was not bad that day. All the weather forecasts predicted rain for most of the days. every day we checked, it all came to the same conclusion rain rain rain which sucked obviously as last year we had shorts and T-shirt weather everyday. Anyways the next day we drove up a Mountain to a big overhanging crag with lots of 8A and 8B+ multi-pitch routes lucky for us the first pitches weren't that hard varying from 5C the to 6C+ witch kept everybody busy for most of the day. Later that day I checked out and 8B+ the first moves went well until about the third clip and then came the rain and a damp twofer appeared, which was impossible to pass i.e. making the route impossible to climb that day. so after a few falls trying to hang onto the wet twofer we decided to set of down mountain to another crag called Alliat this was better and dryer despite only getting two routs in at Alliat it was a good end to the day. All in all I would say that my trip to France was a bit of a washout, but definitely a memorable experience. I didn't climb as much as I hoped and didn't send the 8A. but it was good experience working hard routes but also good fun climbing the easy stuff and hanging with friends.
